This purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the teaching English through cultural approach in
Elementary EFL Classrooms for the 5th graders in the Elementary English Education. This study has been
conducted for two classes of the 5th grades at S elementary school in Seoul for 10 months from March to
December, 2010. For a process of this study, one of the class was called an experiment group and the
other class was called comparison group. In order to ascertain homogeneity of these two groups, the
pre-test had been conducted. The result was same between these two groups, we had get a conviction the
homogeneity of these two groups.
The results of this study give us a theoretical and experimental verification as followings. First, it is
considered that using museum method that was based project method is more effective in an improvement
of English speaking ability in an aspect of linguistic fluency than using only textbook and teacher centered
method. Second, using museum method that was based project method produces more positive effects in
the aspect of interest, confidence and participation for English class in elementay EFL class.
