In this paper, we analyse the research trend of educational studies in the 2nd period
which aims the reconstruction of educational sciences. We analysed the 174 research papers
published in 『The Journal Of Educational Principles』during the period 1996-2015,
focusing on 5 issues: authors, research area, research object, method, and theme. We
applied qualitative method for the former 4 issues, and quantitative method called network
text analysis for the last one. The result is as follows. First, the authors had various
research majors, but a small number of researchers among them played prominent role.
Second, the research areas are based on the ‘endogenous theory of education’ in general,
but the central areas have been changed along the period, and the alternative educational
theories seem to be also remarkable. Third, the researches with theoretical object have
taken the initiatives, and this shows that the theoretically oriented principle of the
educational researches in the 2nd period dominated continuously. Fourth, most of the
papers were based on the literature study, with single-authorship. Fifth, two keywords
“endogenous theory of education” and “educational studies” appeared most often, and
these two turn out to be have high relationship in the texts, with some difference on a
few topics. This confirms the former analyses in other issues, but also points out a new
feature. From discussion on these analyses, we presented a few suggestions for the future
educational researches in the 2nd period.
