Luyou lived a reclusive life for a long time at his hometown, Shan Yin, and wrote many Ci works representing his reclusive life. These Ci works have recorded his country life, covering every aspect of his reclusive life. He also made efforts in finding and writing out unusual meaning contained in general daily life. These Ci works represents feelings and describes things, and use plain and concise expression, feeling vivid. The feelings of the poet were in coincidence with surroundings, which were expressed by pithy words. Leisurely and comfortable feelings, quiet life and plain words were blended well, representing plain artistic style of Luyou’s Ci works. Rural subject matter being introduced in Ci works to show reclusive life means original creation of Luyou in subject matter. This type of Ci works of him is similar with Tao Yuanming’s, both good at plain but lasting appeal. From the point of view of advancement of Ci, Luyou’s Ci also reflect the trend of gradually fusing between poet and Ci of the time of Southern Song. He led the creating trends by actual creation and contributed to advancement of Ci.
