The objective of the study is to verify the effect of FAT applied RT Parent Educating Program on the improvement of parental self-efficacy and parent-child interaction of young child with developmental disabilities. Subjects of the study were 18 parents of young children with developmental disabilities in M city of Jeollanam-do. The program was conducted for two months from June, 2015 to July, 2015, and to verify the effectiveness of the program, a pre-post test was used. and a control group design was used. The results of the study are as follows. First, The program shows the meaningful change in the improvement of self-efficacy, and general-efficacy of the parents of young children with developmental disabilities. Second, in the experimental group, there were positive change on the parent’s style of responsiveness and effectiveness, and in the experimental group, there were positive change on the child`s active behavior factor. Based on the above results, 'Focusing on Food Art Therapy Applied Responsive Teaching Parent Educating Program‘ improves self-efficacy of parents of children with developmental disabilities. And it appears to promote the interaction between the parent and young child with developmental disability. Therefore, this program seems to be appropriate to the emotional-parenting support services for parents of children with developmental disabilities.
