The purpose of this study was to develop, apply and evaluate the effectiveness of creativity education program
based on famous painting parodies using smart phone in hopes of enhancing the creativity, personality and ego
resiliency of pre-kindergarten teachers. Procedures for developing the proposed creativity education program
consist of seven steps: 1) diagnosing a need for developing the proposed program, 2) setting a basic direction of
the program, 3) selecting painting masterpieces, 4) understanding the concept of parody, 5) designing and
developing a prototypic creativity education program, 6) validating the activity lists of the developed program,
and 7) completing the program based on famous painting parodies using smart phone. Participants were 61 (31
in the experimental group and 30 in the comparative group) pre-kindergarten teachers from a university located
in G city. The creativity education program based on famous painting parodies using smart phone was applied
only to the experimental group, but not to the comparative group. The results showed significant differences
between experimental and comparative groups in creativity, personality and ego resiliency. In conclusion, it has
been shown that the creativity program was effective for advancing in the creativity, personality and ego
resiliency of pre-kindergarten teachers. First, excluding accuracy, which is considered to be an unimportant factor
in determining one’s creativity, results showed positive effects on fluency, originality, abstractness, and
persistence. Second, the program also showed positive effects on children’s overall ability in appreciation of
paintings as well as the sub factors including observation and expression, understanding painter’s intention,
atmosphere, painting materials and techniques, art elements, and attitude towards art piece.
