The purpose of this study was to analyze the articles related to children’s education in women’s
magazines of the 2000s. This study was performed by mixing the quantitative and qualitative research
methods for contents analysis of media. The subjects of this study were 2,688 articles related to children’s
education of ‘Women’s Dong-A’(2000-2013). The findings of this study are as follows. When looking into
the tendency of overall perception about parents, parents were thought as ‘problematic group’ in the most
of the articles related to children’s education of the magazine. By government, the recognition that parents
were ‘problematic group’ has recently been reduced. By speaker, experts tended to the highest to recognize
the parents as ‘problematic group’. Parents as recommended model of ‘Women’s Dong-A’ showed the
parent role like prosumer, who kept the close relationship with children and led children to educational
success by developing and applying the education method for their children. The conclusions are as follows.
First, it could be detected the change of the perspective about parents in the articles related to children’s
education of ‘Women’s Dong-A’. Second, the authors of the articles has changed from experts to parents.
In addition, the perspective about the contents of the articles has largely shifted the focus from experts’ to
parents’. Based on this findings, it could be confirmed that parents has been growing in stature.
