이 연구는 2012년 2학기 경기도교육청 관내 일반 중・고등학교에 재학 중인 청각장애 학생을 위하여 정 규 수업시간에 진행되는 수업 내용을 단말기(노트북), 웹캠을 사용하여 실시간으로 수업영상과 음성을 한 국복지대학교 원격교육지원 담당자에게 전송하고, 전송된 음성을 문자통역으로 다시 실시간으로 청각장애 학생에게 전송하는 원격교육지원의 효과성을 검증하기 위한 목적으로 수행하였다. 일반학교에 배치된 청각장애 학생들은 문자통역 원격교육지원에 대한 만족도가 매우 높았으며, 교사들은 특수교육 대상자인 청각장애 학생이 일반학급에 재학 중인 관계로 전혀 특수교육 대상자로서의 혜택이 제 공되지 않았음에 비해 가장 실제적인 지원이라고 생각하였다. 학부모는 학교생활의 성공적 적응이 사회생 활에도 영향을 미친다고 인식하여 계속해서 원격교육지원을 제공해 주는 것이 필요하다고 응답하였다.
The purpose of the study is conducted to test the effectiveness of message translation distance learning support for the students with hearing impairments who are enrolled in regular middle and high schools for the second semester of 2012. Message translation distance learning support included: (1) Contents of class with images class and sound that obtained from regular classes were delivered to the director of distance learning support team at the Korea National University of Welfare through notebook terminals and webcam and (2) Message translations that have been converted from sound messages were lively transmitted to the students with hearing impairments again. As a result, the students in regular schools showed the high satisfaction level of message translation distance learning support. Teachers responded that the support was fairly practical for the students with hearing impairments, especially when they receive no special benefits under regular education environment. Parents also showed that message translation distance learning support would be necessary due to their belief that the successful school adaptation of the students might have an impact on their social life.
