본고는 웹툰 ≪실질객관동화≫와 원텍스트인 설화와의 관계 속에서 이야기의 전승과 향유의 양상을 살펴보고, 웹툰 을 활용한 설화의 창의적인 이해·표현활동을 구상해 보았다. 설화의 성근 줄거리와 구조의 단순성은 다양한 해석의 가능성 을 내포하고 있어 그 틈새를 학습자의 체험과 욕망으로 메워가면서 자신만의 이야기로 새롭게 만들기에 적합한 갈래이다. 본 고에서는 설화의 이러한 특성이 창의적인 이해·표현 활동에 적합한 대상으로 여겨, 설화를 창의적으로 이해하고 표현한 웹 툰 ≪실질객관동화≫를 살펴 보았다. 그 결과 웹툰 ≪실질객관동화≫는 원 텍스트의 인물, 사건, 배경을 중심으로 기존 설화 의 변용, 창출, 재구성을 통해 관점의 전환과 확대를 꾀하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본고에서는 이러한 창의적 이해 표현의 양 상에 착안해, 실제 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 5단계의 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 이상의 논의를 통해, 학습자들에게 기존의 것과 다르게, 넓게 해 주는 창의적 이해표현의 활동의 제재로 설화를 재조명하고, 이야기 전승과 향유의 양상에 주목함으로 써 설화의 구비문학적 요소를 충분히 드러내는 교육 방안을 마련했다.
This study examined the aspects of the transmission and enjoyment of the stories in the relationship between Webtoon Really Objective Tale and its original texts, Korean folk tales, and came up with activities for the creative understanding and expression of Korean folk tales using Webtoon. The simplicity of the rough plots and structures of Korean folk tales imply the possibility of a wide variety of interpretations, so they are appropriate for turning into learners’ own stories, bridging the gaps with their experience and desire. This study considered this characteristic of Korean folk tales subjects appropriate for activities of creative understanding and expression and examined the Webtoon Really Objective Tale that understood and expressed the folk tales creatively. As a result the Webtoon Really Objective Tale was noted that it attempts the transition and expansion of perspectives through the transformation, creation and reconstruction of the existing Korean folk tales, centering around the characters, events and backgrounds of the original text. This study proposed a five-step teaching method that could be applied to the real education field, based on the aspects of these creative understanding and expression. Through the above discussion, this study prepared a teaching method which would sufficiently show the elements of oral literature in Korean folk tales by shedding new light on the folk tales as materials for the learners’ activities for creative understanding and expression unlike the existing ones, and paying attention to the aspects of the transmission and enjoyment of the stories.
