This study analyzes research trend of 40 dissertations and 11 KCI
registered journals, total of 51, related collage art therapy using magazine
from 1992 to 2015 in Korea. This study suggests more systemic and
effective ways of collage research. The analysis looks for a trend by
classifying them into year, objects, topic, collage style. And the research
methods were analysis standard and reported descriptive statistics by
percentile. The results are as follows; first, research of collage art therapy
had been increased from 2008 and shows growing tendency. Second, for
study subject, adults were the most preferred group, and with regard to the
size of experimental groups, the size of 5-10 participants were the most
frequent. Third, for topics of research, mental health recovery, stress,
self-growth were the most discussed ones. Forth, magazine picture collage
was more preferred than box collage for collage style. Fifth, integrated
research method was the most frequently adopted, and experimental/control
groups design were the most preferred. This study can help design more
effective program, and examined the programs' strength, factors and
effectiveness of collage art therapy. The analysis of study topics and objects,
extends of research methods and making techniques of collage are now
expected in the future research.
