본 연구는 유아기 정서단어의 획득과 정서 이해의 발달을 기술하고, 둘 간의 관련성을 탐색 한 것이다. 이를 위하여 만 3, 4, 5세 아동을 대상으로 정서 단어 이해 및 표현과제 그리고 정서 이해 과제인 TEC(Pons, Harris, & Rosnay, 2004)를 실시하였고, 그 관계를 조사하였다. 본 실험에 앞서 정서단어에 대한 이해력을 측정하기 위해 박인조와 민경환(2005)이 개발한 한국 인 감정 단어 목록을 기초로 하여 유아기 정서 단어 목록을 추출한 후, 정서 단어 이해 과제 를 제작하였다. 본 실험 결과 세 과제의 수행은 연령에 따라 유의미한 증가가 나타났으나, 성 별에 의한 차이는 정서단어 표현 과제에서만 나타났다. 세 과제 수행 간의 관련성을 분석한 결과, 연령 변인 통제의 여부와 상관없이 정서단어 이해력 과제와 TEC 과제는 정적 상관이 확인되었다. 회귀분석 결과, 정서단어 이해력 과제의 수행이 TEC 수행에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
The present study is designed to investigate the acquisition of emotional words and its relationship with the development of emotion comprehension during early childhood. To this end, children aged 3, 4, and 5 years were tested with the TEC (test of emotion comprehension), expressible emotional words test, and comprehensible emotional words test, to measure the acquisition of emotional words in children. Before the experiment began, we devised a comprehensible emotional words test using Korean emotion words lists studied by Park & Min(2005). Our results revealed that significant increases were in all tests with age but gender difference was only found in the expressible emotional words test. And comprehensible emotional words test is significantly related to the children’s performance in the TEC, suggesting that the acquisition of emotional words is one of the critical correlates of the development of emotional competence.
