이 연구는 여성 고령자를 대상으로 운동의 형태와 특이성에 따른 각각의 운동프로그램이 여성 고령자에게 어떠한 체력요소에 어떻게 도움을 주기 위해 실시하였으며, 연구결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 볼운동군은 chair stand, 2kg dumbbell curl, chair sit-and-reach, back scratch, 2.44m up-and-go, 6-minute walk에서 향상되었다. 둘째, 밴드운동군은 chair stand, 2kg dumbbell curl, chair sit-and-reach, 2.44m up-and-go에서 향상되었다. 셋째, 요가운동군은 chair stand, 2kg dumbbell curl, chair sit-and-reach, 2.44m up-and-go에서 향상되었다. 넷째, 집단 간에서는 chair stand가 요가운동군이 볼운동군보다 향상되었으며, 2kg dumbbell curl에서 요가운동군이 볼운동군과 밴드운동군보다 향상되었다. 따라서 여성 고령자의 기능적 체력을 향상시키기 위한 운동형태로 볼운동, 밴드운동, 요가운 동이 모두 효과적이지만, 상⋅하체의 근력 향상에는 요가운동이 더 효과적인 운동형태로 추천 할 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the positive effects of each of these three exercises on the physical elements of the aged and help them to choose an effective exercise method suited to their needs. The subjects of this study included 46 elderly women(age 70 or older) living in B Metropolitan City. The subjects were divided into three groups of ball(n=17), band(n=15) and yoga(n=14). Exercises were conducted for 50-60 minutes a day and three times a week for a period of 12 weeks. The ball group showed significant improvement(p<.001) in chair stand, 2kg dumbbell curl, chair sit-and-reach, 2.44m up-and-go and 6-minute walk, and significant improvement(p<.01) in back stretch. The band group showed significant improvement(p<.001, p<.01) in chair stand and 2kg dumbbell curl, and significant improvement(p<.05) in chair sit-and-reach and 2.44m up-and-go. The yoga group showed significant improvement(p<.001) in chair stand and 2kg dumbbell curl, and significant improvement(p<.05) in chair sit-and-reach and 2.44m up-and-go. In terms of comparison between groups, yoga group showed significant improvement (p<.05) in chair stand compared with ball group and band group showed significant improvement(p<.001) in 2kg dumbbell curl compared with ball group. The improvement of functional fitness of elderly women through ball exercise, band exercise and yoga is thought to have positive influences on their quality of life.
