This study developed the science lesson contents using the Korean paintings in the Late Joseon Dynasty,
where students can discover convergence thinking process and principles of science and humanities in art
works, and cultivate topophilia. The teaching-learning program developed was applied to the preliminary class,
and was completed upon reflecting the opinions of participating students and teachers. Based on the result of
the lesson contents’ feasibility test by the expert group, all items obtained CVR above 0.94, which means
that the program is feasible as an integrated education teaching-learning program. With ‘Pungseolyagwiindo’,
the curriculum approached the creativity and imagination that can be found in the blank space and margin of

the space. With ‘Dodamsambong’, the weathering was discovered by comparing satellite photos and photos
from the past. In ‘Sehando’, students experienced the conciseness, which expresses space and place, and
abstract expressions through creative design and emotional experience. The modern students, whose sense of
place has weakened, should be directed to cultivate synesthetic topophilia in the process of analyzing the art
of the ancestors’ hometown and nature and taking part in emotional experience.
