The purpose of this study is to analyze the case by using the frame of the SCM(Smart
Classroom Management) and to find out the meaning of SCM by using the SNS.
This study observed the smart classroom management by using SNS in the first grade
classroom of D elementary school in Gwangju from 2014 to 2015. As the methodology, the
researchers performed qualitative case study analysis. Data were collected by methods such
as literature analysis, observation, in-depth interviews, and teacher's journal.
SCM gave a great help to implement the concept of the SCM. SCM through SNS had
extended the time and the space of the traditional classroom management. The SCM by
using SNS had innovated the communication system in students, parents and teachers.
Whenever and wherever they showed the appearance of communicating with each other
through SCM, the target of the class management was extended to digital contents from
books. Behavior Management led the changes voluntarily from students themselves. In the
learning environment and support parts, SCM created a positive atmosphere for learning.
SCM established a personalized classroom management tailored to the student individually.
Based on this information, the class management through the SNS reformed a new
classroom culture. As a result, it had increased 5C, the goal that the smart education
suggested(creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, civic consciousness).
