The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence that childcare teachers’ work stress has on their
mental state and job satisfaction. For this study, a survey was conducted on teachers of day care centers in
Seoul. The analysis was made using the SPSS Win 18.0 program to conduct the correlation analysis,
frequency analysis, factorial analysis, etc. The research results showed that, first, the work stress of
childcare teachers has a significant effect on their mental health. Second, the work stress of childcare
teachers has a significant effect on their job satisfaction. These results showed that their mental state was
more favorable the lower their work stress, and also reveals a higher job satisfaction. The implications of
this study are expected to become basic data for the development of an effective childcare teacher
education program to lessen their work stress and enhance mental stability and job satisfaction and for
theimprovement of the work environment.
