This study conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey of 466 students enrolled in the health
science college and non-health science colleges from K University in the Gyeongbuk area from to October
11, 2014 to October 16, 2014. Freshmen were 23.4, sophomores 54.7, and juniors 21.9 in the health
science college, while freshmen were 48.6, sophomores 32.9, and juniors 18.6 in non-health science
colleges. As for the motive for enrollment, among students of the health science college, parents' or an
acquaintance's recommendation was 27.3, followed by 23.4 of many opportunities for employment and
among students of non-health science colleges, personal opinion was 36.7, followed by 23.8 of aptitude
and ability. As for satisfaction with major by grade, 'Satisfied' was answered by 86.4 from freshmen, 41.7
from sophomores, and 74.7 from juniors. according to this comparative study, the students showed high
satisfaction with their majors. Further, it is deemed desirable to try to find diverse methods for overseas
employment as well as domestic employment so that students' occupation satisfaction after graduation may
be heightened.
