As the number of cars are increased nowadays, the car accidents are happened abruptly. So, the damage
and the breakdown of car body occur frequently. Therefore, this study was carried on a monocoque
body among the frames as the automotive frame. The structural and fatigue analyses are carried on the
monocoque body frame models of cross member in a row and that of X-shaped. The deformation, the
occurrence and distribution of stress, the extent of fatigue life and fatigue damage are expected and
compared on each model of monocoque body frame. Therefore, The durable monocoque body frame can
be designed by anticipating and comparing the extent of fatigue life and fatigue damage. It is estimated
that the monocoque body frame model of X-shaped can be more adequate to be applied to the
automobile than the existed monocoque body frame of cross member in a row. As the design of
monocoque body frame is also applied by putting together the result of this study, it is thought to be
devoted to the design of the monocoque body frame with more superior durability
