Purpose of this study is to look for characteristics of group-activity objectives by analysing
group-activity objectives in teachers’ guidebooks for Nuri curriculum with Eisner’s classification on
educational objectives and provide implications of objectives statements.
Classification of 974 group-activity objectives mentioned in teacher’s guidebooks for Nuri
curriculum is performed by the behavioral objective, the problem-solving objective, and the expressive
outcome, originally proposed by Eisner.
Results are as follows:
Most objectives of group-activities in teacher’s guidebooks for Nuri curriculum are stated with the
behavioral objective. The behavioral objective, the problem-solving objective, and the expressive
outcome are 79.67%, 13.66%, and 6.67%, respectively. Activity objectives of game, field trip,
cooking and group discussion are mostly stated with the behavioral objective. Activity objectives of
poetry and art are stated more with the problem-solving objective and the expressive outcome than
other group-activities. Objectives of group-activities in Nuri curriculum slightly reflects characteristics
of the activities.
