지역사회 개발 측면에서 특히 농촌문화란 농촌 지역사회에서 오랜 세월 전승되며 변화 발전한 행 동양식 또는 생활양식과 그것이 기초하고 있는 관념 체계를 총칭하는 의미라고 정의할 수 있다. 본 논문은 지역사회 개발의 문제점에 근거하여 농촌지역사회의 문화적 자산에 대한 기초적인 토대연구 를 진행하여 이를 기초로 하여 농촌문화 콘텐츠 및 관광자원을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해서는 토대 조사와 기반조사가 무엇보다 절실히 선행되어야 한다. 농촌지역에 산재한 유․무형의 자원들을 한 데 모아 유기적인 관련성을 고려하여 체계론적 사고를 통해 별개의 영역으로 존재하고 있는 가용 자원 들을 하나의 시스템으로 묶어낸다면 성공적인 지역문화 컨텐츠 및 유기적인 관광자원의 개발 활성화 가 가능할 것이다. 따라서 우리나라 농업 및 농촌지역 향토 문화의 중요성을 부각시키고 이를 연계한 농촌 문화 및 관광자원의 체계적인 개발과 농촌문화와 관련한 관광자원의 콘텐츠화로 효율적인 관리 가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
