The study was design어 to investigate levels of early chil버lood speci려
education(ECSE) teachers' job satisfaction based on workplace type. Mail surveys
were sent to ECSE teachers in the nation. It was proposed that this study would
identify if workplace type had an effect on job satisfaction among ECSE teachers.
ANOV A was used to ana1vze data.
The results were in the following .
First. ECSE teachers were satisfied with their job, except their saJary. The
teachers were satisfied with personal relationships at workplace the most. Such
results indicated that ECSE teachers’ job satisfaction should be directly related to
salary and working conditions. Administrators should consider the above factors
when rewarding their ECSE teachers.
Second. the levels of ECSE teachers' job satisfaction were different from the
workplace type. ECSE Teachers' job satisfaction was the highest for teachers in
special education cJassrooms at the public kindergarten, next teachers in
kindergartens at the special school. and the lowest teachers at the preschool for
children with disabilities. The reasons that ECSE teachers who worked at the
preschool for children \vith disabilities had the lowest job satisfaction were considered
as lower salary and worse working conditions than other teachers. There were no
differences in professionaJ specialty and status among ECSE teachers.
