We recommend that people who have multiple system atrophy or cerebrovascular accident should use electrically.powered wheelchairs with steering wheels as a convenient means of transportation for getting out and about, which senior citizens have used quite successfully in the past. In this study, we have examined how they can make an effective use of electrically'powered wheelchairs with steering wheels. We have concluded the following requirements; their physical ability, cognitive ability, solution of physical barriers, exercise of driving electrically.powered wheelchairs with steering wheels, their desire to use electrically.powered wheelchairs with steering wheels, and acceptance of their own physical conditions. The future theme is to show detailed requirements for using electrically'powered wheelchairs with steering wheels which meet the needs of their physical conditions.
