This study analyzed the case studies of itinerant consultations, and examined an
effective itinerant consultation by post-evaluation 'iuestionnaires and the Goal
Attainment Scaling (GAS). The subjects were 6 children with special-needs in
self- help skills. And 13 teachers in charge of special-needs children in public nursery
schools. The consultant offered the child -care support manual with the aim of
collaborative consultation. First, each teacher defined the target behaviors. Second,
programs for special-needs children were discussed . And third, each teacher
practiced the programs in the classroom . The post-evaluation questionnaires asked
about the general evaluation, satisfaction, and receptiveness of consultations with
manuals. The main results were as followings ;( 1) All cases achieved the target
behaviors. And proper skills of each child increased. (2)Each teacher acquired proper
skills . (3) This method of consultations using manuals affected improvement of the
ability of the teacher. Based on the findings , the following elements were identified
as important for future consultations; 1) to use the manuals as an in- service
education for nursery school teachers; 2) to ensure cooperation among teachers,
agencies, and consultants within comm unity.
