영문초록

The special education in ]apan was changed from special education to special support education on April 1, 2007 in accordance with the amended 「School Education Act」. In order words, the special education of Article 6 was amended into the special support education. Thus, the 「School Education Act」 is very meaningful because it c1early states the legal basis of the special support education. To sum up, first, traditional schools for the blind and the deaf and dumb and nursing schools were changed into the special support school which accepts multiple types of disabilities. Second, the special class was changed into the special support class. Finally, individualized teaching plan was changed into individualized educational supporl plan. The special support education is characterized by l)the individualized educational support plan, 2)the special support education coordinator system, and 3)the prefectural conference on promoting cooperation about special support service.
