This study analyzed domestic master's theses for 18 years from 1993 to 201 1.
Total 50 theses were selected for the analysis and as a result of analyzing them by
(1) the subject of research, (2) the type of research, and (3) the criterion for
research, the following conclusions were obtained
First, in the type of research on care burden of stoke patients, most of the theses
used caregivers of stroke patients in hospital, followed by those of stroke patients in
hospital or having out- patient service. There were a few studies on the caregivers
of stroke patients using community social welfare facilities and those of stroke
patients having out- patient service and those on caregiving of stroke patients having
home care as 6% and 4%, respectively.
Second, most of the theses on caregiving of stroke patients by the type of research
were survey research (86%) and experimental design (12%) and comparative study
were rarely conducted. That is, there have been no studies other than survey
research, experimental design and comparative study.
Third, as a result of analyzing 43 theses on care burden of families with stroke
patients by the criterion for research, there were rrurumum three areas to maximum
seven areas and physical, economical, social, emotional and time dependent criteria
were mainly used.
