본 연구는 기업 및 공공조직 실천공동체 관련 연구동향을 살펴보고, 테크놀로지 기반의 C4P 모델을 적용하여 국내 기업 및 공공조직 실천공동체의 구성 요소와 그 차이점을 분석하 고자 하였다. 분석대상으로 실천공동체 연구가 시작된 2000년 이후의 관련 논문 31편을 선정 하였으며, 발표년도별, 연구대상별, 연구방법별, 학문분야별 연구동향을 분석하였다. 그 중 실 천공동체 구성요소를 명시하고 있는 기업 및 공공조직 맥락 연구 16편을 선정하여 C4P 요소 인 목적(purpose), 주제(content), 소통(conversation), 연결(connection), 정보 맥락(information context) 을 적용, 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 기업 및 공공조직 실천공동체 연구는 2000년 기업에 서 시작되어 중반 이후 공공조직에서 활성화되는 양상을 보여주었다. 기업은 양적연구를 중 심으로 경영학에서, 공공조직은 질적 연구를 중심으로 행정학에서 주로 연구가 이루어졌다. 둘째, 기업과 공공조직의 구성요소 중 목적(purpose)과 소통(conversation) 측면에서 차이가 있었 다. 기업에서는 지식공유와 아이디어 창출을 위해, 공공조직에서는 공공서비스 품질 향상과 같은 업무성과 개발을 위해 실천공동체가 형성되고 있었다. 또한 기업은 온라인 실천공동체 중심인 반면, 공공조직의 실천공동체는 여전히 오프라인 실천공동체 중심으로 운영되고 있었 다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 최근 업무 환경 변화 및 기술 발전에 따라 기 업 및 공공조직에 적합한 실천공동체 구축전략을 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.
The study aims to investigate the research trends related to communities of practice (CoP) in private and public organizations in South Korea. The C4P model was used as a theoretical framework to analyze the CoP components of private and public organizations. First, thirty-one articles on CoP published in Korean journals since 2000 were selected and analyzed in terms of publication year, research subject, research methods, and research context. Second, sixteen out of the thirty-one articles were analyzed using the C4P model approach, focusing on purpose, contents, conversation, connection, and information context. The results showed that CoP research began in the early 2000s in private organizations, while the research in public organizations increased since the mid-2000s. Additionally, the research in private organizations adopted quantitative methods in business administration, but the research in public organizations frequently used qualitative methods in public administration domain. Regarding C4P, the results indicated differences between private and public organizations, particularly in terms of the purpose and conversation aspects. This study offers implications for the design and implementation of CoP in private and public organizations.
