The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the integrated arts
therapy program on ego-resilience and stress coping style of the middle-aged
women. Sixteen middle-aged women participants who are recruited through
the public flyer of the local cultural center in B city and were divided into
two each group of 8 as a control or an experimental group. Integrated arts
therapy was carried out for the experimental group for 8 sessions of 90
minutes twice a week from 2014. March 17th to April 26th. Ego-resilience and
stress coping style scale were carried out as pre and post test, and Analysis
of covariance(ANCOVA) was used to show the significance. The results are
as follows: First, the experimental group that participated in integrated arts
therapy program has been improved stress coping strategies of middle-aged
women. Second, the experimental group that participated in integrated arts
therapy program has been improved stress coping strategies than the control
group that did not participated in the program. According to the results,
integrated arts therapy program was useful to improve the ego-resilience and
stress coping style of the middle-aged women. Finally, the implications and
limits of this study were discussed.
