The subjects of this study were 245 students from high school in G city from April to June, 2016. The
final analysis data were 220 students, 115 (47.73%) male students and 115 (52.27%) female students. In
order to measure self-intensity, the items proposed by Barron (1953) based on the MMPI question were
validated by Lee Jang Ho and Kim Jae Hwan(1982). The Korean version of MMPI questionnaire was used
to measure happiness of 8 items developed by Lee Seung Heon and Yoo Seong Mo(2007)[11] to measure
the standardized tools which standardized by Shin Young Woo and Kim Jae Hwan (1992). The collected
data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and correlation coefficient among SPSS 18.0 program. As a result of the study, ego-strength and happiness of adolescents were correlated with sub-factors. The lack of
symptom of ego-strength, strong sense of reality, emotional well-being, ideal stimulation seeking, new
stimulation seeking and stability, weakness, denial, non-religious attitude and so forth are variables that
correlate with the happiness of adolescents. Based on this study, it seems that it is necessary to develop
self-development program to enhance ego-strength and happiness for adolescents.
