The purpose of the study is to examine the issues on youth rights and to propose the direction for the new shift of youth participation movement. The major contents of the study includes the dependent and independent characteristics of youth, assurance of self-determination as an autonomous being, and the differentiation between children rights and youth rights as major issues of the youth rights discussions. Also, this study proposes new direction of changing youth participation from rational participation to aesthetic and emotional participation, realization of digital democracy and online activism, from engagement to engaging, and from participation separate to participation together.
