본 연구는 대구광역시의 자유학기제 운영 사례를 통해 중학교 자유학기제가 야기한 변화를 분석한 것이다. 연구를 통해 자유학기제가 중학교 현장에 올바르게 운영될 수 있는 사항을 제시하고자 하였 다. 본 연구에서는 대구광역시의 자유학기제 운영 학교에서 3가지 구성원(학생, 교사, 학부모)을 대상 으로 설문조사와 면담조사를 실시하였다. 연구는 크게 세 부분으로 이루어졌다. 첫째, 자유학기제에 대한 학교 구성원들의 인식 및 만족도를 조사 및 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학교 구성원들은 자유학기 제에 대한 올바른 인식을 가지고 있었으며, 높은 만족도를 보여주었다. 둘째, 자유학기제 운영 실태를 조사 및 분석하였다. 학교 구성원들은 비교적 교과 교육과정 및 자유학기 활동 전반에 만족하고 있었 으나 지역사회 인프라 활용 및 평가 방식에 대해서는 다양한 의견이 나타났다. 셋째, 자유학기제로 인한 학교 구성원의 다양한 측면의 변화를 조사 및 분석하였다. 학교 구성원들은 정의적 영역과 진로 영역에서는 긍정적인 반응을 보이고 있으나 학습적 영역에서는 부정적인 반응을 보였다. 끝으로 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과에 근거하여 자유학기제가 교육과정에 주는 시사점과 자유학기제의 활성화를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
This case study analyzed the changes caused by the free learning semester school in middle school through Daegu Metropolitan City 's case. Through the research, We tried to suggest some things that the free learning semester can be operated properly in the middle school field. In this study, we conducted surveys and interviews with three groups (students, teachers, and parents) in Daegu Metropolitan City 's free learning semester school. The study consisted of three parts. First, we surveyed and analyzed the awareness and satisfaction of school members on the free learning semester. As a result of the study, the school members had a correct understanding of the learning semester and showed high satisfaction. Second, we surveyed and analyzed the status of the management free learning semester. Although the school members were satisfied with the curriculum and the free learning semester activities, there were various opinions about the community infrastructure and evaluation methods. Third, we surveyed and analyzed the changes in various aspects of school members due to the free learning semester. School members showed positive responses in the affective domain and career domain, but negative responses in the learning domains. Finally, based on the results obtained in this study, we explained implications of the free learning semester for the national curriculum. And we suggested detailed plans for the activation of the free learning semester.
