Objective : The purpose of this study was to sensory processing level of a typical children there is a
delay in language development, and let’s take a look at the features that appear in these
persons, Learn more about the correlation between the degree of language delays and
sensory processing abilities.
Methods : The subjects of this research were 61 children aged between 6 to 11 years old. By using a
questionnaire it was examined for the general characteristics of the child, Occupational therapists
who are responsible for sensory integration therapy Sensory profile evaluation was carried out.
In addition, a speech therapist that children are receiving treatment, using the relationship
between the area as an analytical material.
Results : The results of this study are SP section analysis of the language area vocabulary scores and
correlation, the raw score was found to be expressed in the sub-region of Multisensory
Processing, Modulation of Movement Affecting Activity level differ significantly and two
different items of sensory profile, the raw score accommodate sensory profile of the
sub-region in the Sensory input Affecting Emotional Responses, Visual input Affecting
Emotional Responses and Activity level 2 different items and the significant differences that
appeared to be. SP factor analysis results of region and language vocabulary scores and
correlation, the raw score expression showed a significant difference in the sub-region of
Inattention Distractibility entry in the sense of the profile, : the raw score accommodate
other items except Sensory seeking item in the sub region of the sensory profile was found
not greatly significant.
Conclusion : In the future to study the properties of the sensory profile according to a language problem
set the basic guidelines for sensory integration therapeutic approach for many children with
language problems, it will have to be applied in the treatment.
