Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the aging anxiety and attitude toward the elderly
of physical and occupational therapists working at geriatric rehabilitation hospitals and to
utilize it as the basic data of the working environment and successful aging research of the
rehabilitation therapist in the future.
Method : From January 2, 2017, 241 physical and occupational therapists working in geriatric rehabilitation
hospitals for about 5 weeks were surveyed and analyzed using SPSS 23.0 version.
Results : The aging anxiety of physical and occupational therapist working at the geriatric rehabilitation
hospital was relatively high and the attitude toward the elderly was more positive than the neutral.
Conclusion : The latter group had higher levels of aging anxiety. 1.Female therapist < Male therapist, 2.
Occupational therapist < Physical therapist, 3. Vocational College Graduate Therapist <
Graduate of higher education level, 4. Healthy therapist < Unhealthy therapist, 5. Therapist who
is satisfied with work environment < Therapist who is not satisfied with working environment.
Also, Attitude toward the elderly was more positive in therapists who are healthy and satisfied
with their work.
