Objective : The purpose of this study is to understand work ability of occupational therapists and to provide basic data for prevention and improvement. Method : We surveyed 50 occupational therapists in Busan by mail and e-mail from January 10, 2017 to February 30, 2017. Results : The mean work capacity index for males is 35.34 (± 3.27) and the work ability index for females is 31.54 (± 3.32). The mean age of the work ability index was 37.34 (± 4.39) at age between 31-40 years old. The work performance index with daily average working hours was 34.52 (± 4.32) when working less than 8 hours. According to the average number of patients treated daily, the work ability index was 36.34 (± 3.03) for patients less than 10-15. Conclusion : The limitations of this study are as follows. First, it is difficult to make generalization because it is a study of occupational therapist in Busan area. Second, the number of subjects is too small to generalize. It can give a positive help for future research about work ability in occupational therapy.
