그림책의 속표지(inside title page)는 본격적으로 그림책이 전개되기 전 페이지를 가리킨다. 이것은 영 화의 오프닝 시퀀스(opening sequence)와 같은 역할을 하며, 제목과 작가를 소개하면서 그림책의 세 계로 독자를 이끈다. 이러한 그림책 속표지의 특성을 분석하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이며, 분석대상 그 림책은 국내 그림책 9권이다. 분석대상 그림책의 속표지에 나타난 글과 그림을 분석했으며, 분석 결 과 본문의 도입부(intro)역할, 본문의 마지막 부분과 연결되는 구조, 면지와 본문과의 연결고리로 범 주화하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 그림책의 속표지는 본문의 시작을 열어주는 도입부(intro)의 역할을 하고 있었다. 둘째, 속표지가 본문의 마지막과 연결되면서 주제의 효과적인 전달을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 그림책 속표지가 면지와 본문의 연결고리 역할을 하고 있었다. 따라서 그림책의 속표 지도 텍스트 못지않게 중요한 읽기의 대상으로 의미를 가지기 때문에 그림책과 소통하는 하나의 방법 으로서 제시될 필요가 있다.
The inside title page of the picture book refers to the page before the picture book is developed in earnest. It plays the same role as the opening sequence of a movie and leads readers to the world of picture books by introducing titles and authors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the inside title page and 9 books of domestic picture books are analyzed. Analyzing the articles and pictures in the inside title page of the analyzed picture book, the analysis result categorized as the intro role of the text, the structure connected to the end of the text, and the link between the endpaper and the text. The results of this study were as follows: First, the inside title page of the picture book was the intro that opened the beginning of the text. Second, it was found that the title sheet was linked to the end of the text and that the subject was effectively conveyed. Third, the inside title page of the picture book was the link between the endpaper and the text. Therefore, it should be presented as a way to communicate with a picture book because the inside title page of a picture book has meaning as an important reading object as well as text.
