The purpose of this study was analyze research trends of domestic journal about projective drawing test.
The subject of the study is the 369 research studies about projective drawing test published in the journals
from 1968 to June 2017. Six types of frames were used in the analysis: the kinds of projective drawing test,
the year of publication, the publishing institute, subject characteristics, the number of data, and topics. The
results are as follows: First, there were fewer than 10 studies in the 1980s, but the number increased to 16
in the early 1990s, 42 in the late 1990s, 44 in the early 2000s, and 92 in the late 2000s, and 132 in the
early 2010s; the test is also being studied. Second, the most studies were published in psychological science
journals. The old tests were published in various areas, but recent tests have been biased. Third, most
studies focused on children, and little research focused on the elderly. Also, studies about the ordinary
people were the most common, and problematic behaviors is the most studied topic among maladjustment
topics. The frequencies of studies examining neuro-developmental disorder, neuro-cognitive impairment, and
schizophrenia are similar among all three disorders. In regards to environmental characteristics of the
subject, the most subjects had jobs and related characteristics. Fourth, for the number of data, 100 to less
than 300 cases are the most. Fifth, the study topics related to emotions were most prevalent.
