This study the research intends to figure out the effects of middle-aged women’s religious life level on their
marital satisfaction and parent-child relationship satisfaction and also examine how meaning in life can improve
middle-aged women’s such satisfaction. The study targets middle-aged women in their 40’s and 50’s, and a
face-to-face survey was administered. Total 414 women agreed to the survey, and effective data gained from 320
out of them were used to draw results. The measuring tools employed include total four scales: the religious life
scale, meaning in life scale, marital satisfaction, and parent-child relationship satisfaction. To sum up the major
results, as marital relationship satisfaction was high, parent-child relationship satisfaction was also high. In
addition, middle-aged women with a higher religious life level showed higher marital satisfaction, and both
religious life and meaning in life exerted more influence on enhancing marital satisfaction. And middle-aged
women with a higher religious life level indicated higher parent-child relationship satisfaction, and both religious
life and meaning in life exhibited more influence on enhancing parent-child relationship satisfaction.
Finally, the implication of the results and suggestions for further research were discussed.
