The purpose of this study was to explore on the characteristics related to the military life adjustment in late adolescence. A self-report questionnaire with open ended questions was used for the data collection from 71 officers. The data was analyzed by a content analysis and a case study method. The results were as follows. First, adaptive characteristics were summarized to 4 categories: self-management and talents, active execution of duty, making efforts for positive relationships, and respect and obedience to military system. Second, the most important subordinate characteristic of self-management and talents was positiveness and sense of humor. Third, the most important subordinate characteristic of active execution of duty was leading by example. Fourth, the most important subordinate characteristic of making efforts for positive relationships was being friendly and accepted. Lastly, the most important subordinate characteristic of respect and obedience to military system was determination and enthusiasm for hard working.
