In an age when communication, cooperation, dialogues, interdependencies, imagination, emotion and creativity
are emphasized, school education requires a new paradigm to discover and explore the nature of
humanity, rather than competition. This study aimed to investigate the topics and methods of humanistic
education at primary, lower-secondary, and upper-secondary level, with a particular focus on art in order
to introduce the basics of humanistic education to art curriculum at these levels. Through implementing the
Delphi Survey, this study sought to present the direction of topic selection and structuralization of learning
topics and components of the humanistic education in art education to contribute toward its establishment
in school systems. Learning topics were subdivided into seven categories, including art and aesthetic experiences,
art and identity, art and pluralism, art and social participation, and twenty-two learning components
were derived from each learning topic. Furthermore, this study proposed the practical methods to
support humanistic education.
