본 연구의 연구문제는 첫째, 해외 실습지에서의 실습생들과 현지교사들의 상호평가에 차이가 있는 가? 둘째, 상호평가는 실습지역에 따라 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 국제교육실습생들은 실습록에서 해 외교육실습과 생활경험에 대해 어떻게 평가하는가? 등이었다. 연구대상은 2017년 1월에 5주간 미 국 교육실습프로그램에 참여한 34명이며, 이 중 24명은 미국 중남부 지역의 초등학교에서, 10명은 서북부의 초등학교에서 교육실습을 하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 첫째, 해외 실습지에서의 실습 생들과 현지교사들의 상호평가에는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 실습생들에 있어서, 실습지역에 따라 상호평가에 대한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 미국 서북부 지역에서 실습한 한국 교육 실습생들은 중남부에서 실습한 실습생들보다 현지교사에 대한 평가가 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 평 가되었다. 셋째, 실습생들의 실습록의 실습후기에 나타난 미국 교육실습과 생활에 대한 평가는 그 들에 대한 존중과 배려가 압도적으로 많이 표현되었으며, 홈스테이 생활과 미국 교육의 전문성 등 이 그 다음으로 많이 언급되었다. 이에 따른 함의가 논의 및 결론에서 논의되었다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze mutual evaluation between the Korean practicum preteachers and practicum site teachers in the USA, difference between practicum sites, and data collected from the preteachers’ personal journals after the five-week international practicum. The research participants included 34 Korean preteachers including 27 female and 7 male students and 24 practicum site teachers. The research results showed as follows. First, there was no significant difference on the mutual evaluation between practicum preteachers and practicum site teachers in the USA. Second, there was a significant difference between the two sites on the teacher evaluation by each practicum site preteachers. Third, the practicum students evaluated highly on the teachers’ and home-stay families’ respect and considerations for them through their personal journals. In addition, home-stay living experiences and the American educational excellence were also frequently mentioned. Some discussions were included regarding the research results.
