The purpose of this study is to analyze how psychological, environmental factors affect causes of the
delinquency of adolescent school violence assailants in the perspectives of family life, peer, and school
life. Study subjects were six male students who are enrolled at a middle school or a high school in
S-gu in Seoul and participated in the community service and the special training because they were
involved in a school violence. Through the individual in-depth interview, factors of the parenting
attitude, peer relationship, and school life according to the background causes of school violence
activities, were drawn. Following is the summary of the study result. First of all, factors of assailing
students’ home life are parents who avoid problematic behaviors, violence between siblings, and violent
behavior from fathers. Secondly, factors of the peer relationship are found to be the lack of sincere
friendship and the generalization of delinquency. The last factors from the school life are the
abandonment of roles as students, the ignorance from teachers, and the negligence in school. Based on
such study results, limitations, meanings, implications, and follow-up study proposal for this study
were discussed.
