The purpose of this study was to identify the teachers' competencies necessary to achieve their
competency. To achieve this aim, the research trends related to Korean teachers' competence was analyzed
by using the semantic network analysis method. The results were as follows. First, in the elementary
teacher competence research, students' understanding ability, communication ability, and in secondary school
teacher competence research, the ability to apply teaching technology and subject expertise were regarded as
the most important competency. Second, in recent research on teacher competence after the 2015 revised
curriculum notice and application, it was important that the ability to apply reflective thinking, management
for changing, diversity understanding, convergence education. In order to strengthen the capacity of teachers,
practical strategies to improve various aspects of education office, teacher training institute and teacher
systematically were suggested.
