This study attempts to examine the senior simulation literature in Korea and provide basic data for
establishing a plan for effective senior simulation in the future. This study employed the research method
of searching for senior simulation documents by using database until January 2017, and finally selected 23
studies after reviewing according to the literature review method. For the selected research literature, this
study systematically examined the effects of senior simulation. As a result of the study, all of the 23
subjects were experimental studies, and they were found to be various in subjects and dependent variables.
To investigate the effect of senior simulation, previous studies examined on the effect of simulation using
various variables such as attitude, knowledge, nursing practice, behavior, empathy, sense of support, image
and understanding toward the elderly, aging anxiety, job performance, and job satisfaction. Among the
dependent variables, the attitude toward the elderly was adopted as a dependent variable in 90.9% of the
target literature, 80.0% of them were effective, and knowledge was adopted as a variable in 27.3% of the
target literature, which was found to be effective at 83.3%. As a result of reviewing the literature which is
the research target of this study, it was found that the aging simulation performed in Korea for various
subjects and dependent variables. It will be necessary to perform the Meta-analysis identify the effects of
aging simulation experience.
