본 연구의 목적은 발달장애인들의 성적발달을 지원해 주는 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이것을 본 연구에서는 부모역량강화 프로그램 개발을 통해 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 먼저 발달장애인들의 성과 성교육을 고찰하고, 발달장애 자녀들의 성적 문제에 직면한 부모들에 대한 연구들을 탐색하였다. 또 장애 자녀들의 부모들을 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램들을 개관하였다. 이를 바탕으로 발달장애를 가진 성인 자녀들의 성적발달을 지원해 주기 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램을 실험적으로 개발하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서 제시된 프로그램의 제한성과 제언을 제시하였다.
The purpose of the present study was to search for method that supports sexual development of people with developmental disabilities. To do this, an empowering parents program was developed. For this, first, reviewed studies on sexuality of people with developmental disabilities and sex education. Second, examined researches on parents who was challenged to their children\'s sexuality. Third, outlined the empowering parents programs in previous studies. Forth, developed an experimental program for empowering parents who have adult-children with developmental disabilities to support them.
