During the whole life of Zhu Guanqian, he experienced two totally different social systems. Naturally his thoughts of literature and art was divided into two stages, the earlier stage and the later stage. People often focus on studying his thoughts of his earlier stage but seldom do some research work on his thoughts of his later stage. The truth is that the active period of his thoughts of literature and art should be in his later stage. This article puts emphasis on probing into the evolution of his thoughts of his later stage. The evolution of his thoughts in his later stage developed at the same time when the political situation in China was changeable. So the evolution rose and fell for distinctively three times. First from 1949 to 1954, with the rebuilding movement to the old intellectuals, Zhu Guangqian also rethought and freed from his own thoughts during this course. Second from 1955 to 1966, the debate of aesthetics was held in New China for the first time, during this debate, he used the theory of Marxism he just learned actively to re-construct his thoughts of literature and art. Third from 1976 to 1986, with the period of bringing order out of chaos coming, Zhu Guangqian cautiously restored and mixed his thoughts of literature and art of his earlier stage.
