This thesis is the comparative study on the oral epic between Jejudo and Ainu tribe. There is an advance of culture in and around Judido and Ainu tribe, where plenty of epic has been handed down since the primitive ages. Jejudo has Ilbanbonpuri, Dangbonpuri, Chosangbonpuri and others. It is confirmed that each one of them has been transmitted different function and contents. Kamuy, Yukar, Oina, Ainu yukar, Menoko yukar and others have been handed down to Ainu tribe. It is also confirmed that each one of them has been transmitted distinctively according to protagonist\'s position and ability. The oral epic of Jejudo and one of Ainu tribe are comparative in many ways. It is confirmed that there are something in common and difference in formality and contents in a large way. It is common in formality that there is a specific priest or an oral performer who progresses singing a song long. Here is the difference. Simbang, a priest, play in the oral epic of Jejudo. On the other hand, anyone can do in the oral epic of Ainu tribe. It is nearly hard to find out something in common and in difference in contents between them. After all, it can be said that the oral epic between them has big differences. However, it is certain that there is a pattern which each oral epic has been progressing in the base. Also these oral epics are very important as an example of world ones..oral epics.
