The Cheonyerok(天倪錄), an eighteenth century Yadam anthology, is a very important Yadam anthology in the history of the formation and development of Yadam. Although the works included in the Cheonyerok recorded eccentric events, it gave them realistic and ethical meanings. So the Cheonyerok played a very significant role in trasforming Legends into Yadamge(야담계) Anecdotes or Yadamge Novels. The stories in the Cheonyerok were portrayed realistically and their backgrounds clearly. By those methods, the Cheonyerok made its works independent from other facts, ideology or ethics etc.. The Cheonyerok used deferment of narration, the method which helped extend the time and space of works. This method of deferring narration helped transform the Anecdotes into Novels. The Cheonyerok invented a model of the self-narration in discribing one\'s own experience. This model was developed into the most important narrating method of Cheongguyadam and Dongyawhygip which were written in 19 century. But the limit of the Cheonyerok is that it has too many eccentric works. The works portrayed by the narrative perspectives of ‘desire -fulfillment’ or ‘problem-solution’ are praised, because they reflect the reality of the late Yi dynasty positively. But the Cheonyerok has only a few works using such narrative perspectives. So we can conclude that the Cheonyerok developed Yadam not by reflecting the new reality of the late Yi y but by narrating the old stories newly and by giving new meanings to the old stories. The clearest distinction between the Cheonyerok and the 19th century Yadam is that in the Cheonyerok form is given more significance than the content, while in the 19th century Yadam anthologies content is given more significance than form or form and content are integrated.
