This is based on how the old stories, the traditional fairy tales, which take important part in one of the current children literatures, are shown in the process of rewriting them at present. The object of this study is to prove a striking contrast in the current rewritten old story. Since the transmission and admission of the traditional fairy tales are different, considering of the questions on how they are shown in the process of rewriting from the current point of view. Today we can not overlook that the traditional fairy tales are not for ‘telling’ culture, but for ‘reading’ or ‘viewing’ one. Additionally, this is the reason why this study takes the publications for commercial use - excluded for a long time on the ground that they should be for children. Considering the process of the traditional fairly tales’ admission is dominated by the publication cultures, it is quite reasonable - as a study text. It has a tendency that the more commercial characters the publications have, the more distribution to the children they have. There are lots of things to be considered when rewritten. Among them, this study tried to find the elements to entertain our children, such as a sense of humor.
In the result of this study : 1. Allegory (fable) Element - animals and human beings are coexistent, 2. Picture Element - visualization of imaginary element, 3. Language Element - repetition and wit of mother tongue, 4. Behavior Element - childish or foolish doings, greedy doings, or wise doings, 5. Fantasy Element - stimulation of the unlimited imagination, are expressed in the traditional fairy tales. However, several issues are revealed in the process of giving pleasures. This study could point out the development of illogical story in the allegory element, too exaggerated expression in picture element, and more thoughts needed when naming of characters in language element. And in behavior element old story styles are relatively well acceded to comparing to other elements, however, some of them are indicated the failure on display the theme clearly in the course of expressing one whole story combining several motives. Fantasy element is frequently used in the old story, and yet it has a tendency to select too universal works. When planning a series, it is required to select each work more carefully.
Traditional fairy tales are sometimes written in itself or rewritten, based on the old story. The most important thing is to consider our children who would read the story. Our aim would be accomplished when children could imagine our ancestors’ thoughts or life styles after reading. It is natural to write a interesting and pleasant story for children. However, the pleasure should be not for commercial purpose, but for children themselves.
