본 연구에서는 소수의 유아영재를 대상으로 SIGT 탐구형 영재과학 프로그램을 적용함으로써 유아영재의 특성을 이해하고, 과학 활동 과정을 질적으로 분석함으로써 각 개인의 과학적 태도나 지식, 기술 등의 향상과 창의성과 문제해결력의 향상을 확인하는데 목적을 두었다. 따라서 웩슬러 지능검사 결과 126-141에 해당되는 유아영재 4명을 대상으로 하여 탐구형 영재과학 프로그램을 적용하여 실험을 실시하고, 질적 접근과 양적접근을 통해 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과, SIGT 탐구형 영재과학 프로그램은 유아영재의 창의성과 문제해결력 향상에 효과적임을 확인하였다.

영문초록

This research was analysed an investigative science program through quality approachment. This research was presented a problem as following statements. 1. Is the investigative science program for gifted children effective for increased diagram creativity (continuation & connection, completion, new elements addition, theme, unconventionally)? 2. Is the investigative science program for gifted children effective in the improvement of gifted children\'s problem solving capability (question comprehension and explanation, the problem solving idea and its application, the conclusion of the problem solving)? 3. In three phrase of investigative science program for gifted children\'s process, what changes are emerged in children\'s creativity (figure, control)? Four children who were training in the SIGT were selected as the subjects of this research. The research was conducted ten times in total, over the course of nine weeks. For the collection of material, both camcorder and recorder were used to record useful data during class, and this data was used to check changes in levels of creativity and problem solving capability. The result of this research is shown in the relevant graphs. The summary of the research was as follows: First, the children under this program have experienced marked improvement in continuity, connectivity, perfection, and theme. Second, in the process of this program, gifted children had an interest in question understanding and investigation, and their levels of concentration improved. In addition, question finding and explanation showed considerable improvement. However, the capability of idea suggestion, related application and the reaching of a cohesive conclusion experienced a lessened improvement. Third, the whole research process was divided into 3 steps; early, middle, and final. The investigation of creativity, ingenuity, flexibility and imagination had been improved at each step. Flexibility and imagination were especially advanced. In conclusion, the investigative science program for gifted children has a notably positive effect toward the improvement of gifted children\'s creativity and problem solving capability.
