본 연구는 틀린-믿음에 대한 이해가 발달하는 시기인 만 4세 유아들을 대상으로, 가작놀이의 빈도 및 사회적 가작놀이의 수준, 틀린-믿음 이해능력과의 관계를 구체적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울 및 경기도에 중산층이 많이 거주하는 지역의 어린이집 2곳에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 64명(남여 각각 32명)이었다. 연구 결과, 유아의 가작놀이의 참여 빈도는 틀린-믿음 이해능력과 유의미한 관련이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 유아의 사회적 가작놀이의 수준은 틀린-믿음 이해능력과 유의미한 정적 상관을 나타냈으며, 이러한 관계는 유아의 어휘능력을 통제한 후에도 유효하게 나타났다. 또한, 유아의 어휘능력은 가작놀이 빈도 및 사회적 가작놀이의 수준, 틀린-믿음 이해능력과도 유의미한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 유아의 사회적 가작놀이 수준이 높아질수록 틀린-믿음 이해능력 과제를 보다 잘 수행하는 경향이 있음을 보여주는 것이며, 아울러 사회적 가작놀이의 수준을 이루는 다양한 놀이행동의 질적 요소들이 틀린-믿음 이해능력과 더 높은 관련이 있음을 보여주는 것이다.
The aim of this study is to investigate the associations between the frequency of pretend play, the level of social pretend play, and understanding of false-belief in 4-year-old children. This research was been conducted focusing on sixty four 4-year-old children who attend daycare centers in Seoul and KyungGi-Do. The results of this study suggest that the frequency of pretend play was not correlated with an understanding of the false-belief tasks, whereas there was a positive association between the level of social pretend play and an understanding false-belief, independent of vocabulary ability. Moreover, children\'s vocabulary abilities showed a positive correlation with the frequency of pretend play, the level of social pretend play and false-belief competence. These findings indicate that children with higher levels of social pretend play perform better than children of lower levels of social pretend play in understanding false-belief tasks.
