This paper is an inquiry into action research. The study of action research comes down to the following questions. What is action research? What is its purpose? How do we distinguish action research and ‘non-action’ research? What are its advantages? What are the adequate questions for action research? What stages do we have to go through? How is action research conducted in other countries? Why is ethics an important issue in carrying out an action research? The purposeof this paper is to assist teachers, principals or those working at the center of the education system to make schools better places for both instructors and students.
