On the Aesthetic Recreation in Translation through Jenner’s English Version of Journey to the West Journey to the West is a famous literary work winning universal praise. Its English version by W.J.F Jenner is considered excellent. This essay discusses how Jenner reproduces the aesthetic effects in his version from three aspects of the accuracy and equivalence of word selection, aesthetic conception and discourse texture. I concluded that the aesthetic recreation can only be achieved by having an intimate knowledge of the context of the original work, by digging out the deep connotation between the lines, by dealing with it from the discourse texture, and by handling skillfully both languages.
