이 연구는 자폐아 개별 음악치료 과정에서 나타난 사회적 상호작용 요소가 무엇인지를 조명하기 위한 것이었다. 6개월 동안 자폐아 4명을 대상으로 주1회 개별 세션을 진행하였고, 각 세션마다 세션일지를 기록하고 비디오로 녹화하였다. 그 후, 연구자인 주치료사는 세션일지와 녹화된 비디오를 보며 음악치료활동에서 나타난 사회적 상호작용 요소를 기술하였다. 연구자는 연구자인 음악치료사를 포함한 음악치료 인턴 2명과 유아특수교사 2명이 기술한 내용으로부터 “의미단위”를 추출하고 분석하였다. 연구결과 자폐아 음악치료에서 나타난 사회적 상호작용 요소는 타인의 행동에 대한 의도 인식행동, 반응행동, 시작행동, 주고받기행동, 창조적 표현행동으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate what kinds of social interactions were initiated when autistic children received the individual music therapy. This study was conducted with four autistic children and they attended an individual music therapy session once a week. All of the sessions were videotaped and also the session journals were recorded respectively. The research team was composed of two student therapists, two teachers who majored in special education and a certified music therapist who was in charge of this study. The team extracted and analyzed \"meaningful units\" from the data. Through the study we could find five social interaction factors in music therapy of children with autism; perception of others\' acts, reaction to others\' behaviors, initiation of movement, exchange of acts, creative expression.
